Things I learned so far

BUSI 2202: BLOG POST #10 By Sanskar Karki Mount Saint Vincent University Thinking about this course, I can say that it was and will always be a really good experience that taught me a lot. When I first started I did not know much about the subject. As time went on I got better at thinking for myself talking to people and looking at things from different sides. One thing that really stuck with me was learning how to think about things in a way instead of just looking at the easy answers. The course taught me to think deeply about the course. I became better at asking questions looking at things from points of view and explaining my ideas in a clear way. This helped me to learn and grow, not in school but also in my everyday life and, with the course. I think what I learned from the course will stay with me. Another important thing I learned is that consistency and effort. By writing blog posts I saw how small steps can add up to make a big difference over time. I got better at putting ...

But if you do it in a way it can help people trust you it can stop people from getting confused and it can show that you care about others. The best way to communicate news is to be honest to be kind and to be clear. First you need to get ready, before talking about something we need to take some time to understand what is going on and think about how other might react that news. After that, you should pick a time and place to talk like; in a private, quiet place. How I Can Become a Better Listener

Image
BUSI 2202: BLOG POST #5 By Sanskar Karki Mount Saint Vincent University Being a good listener is something I learned is necessary for effective communication. Previously, I thought that listening just required me to remain silent while the other person spoke. However, with the help of this course, I got to realized that listening includes more than just being quiet. It involves concentration, and an interest in what the other person is saying.  A good example of how I can improve my listening skills is to pay close attention to what the speaker says. This suggests that I should pay complete attention to what the speaker is saying rather than being distracted by other activities, such as checking my phone. Being totally attention will allow me to better understand what the speaker is saying. Using nonverbal communication is another important part of being a better listener. Maintaining eye contact, nodding, and keeping an open posture shows the speaker that I am engaged and inte...

It provide support on what we say and make virtual communication clearer and more engaging. I think, the effective way to use nonverbal communication in virtual meetings is by looking at the facial expressions and where the eye contact is. Focusing at the camera helps people unlock the sense of eye contact and shows the attention you are giving to the speaker. Using simple or repeated actions like smiling or nodding while someone is speaking or presenting can make conversation more interesting and understanding. Also, things like Posture, body language or movement also very important while having a conversation with the o...

Tips for Giving an Effective Business Presentation

Image
BUSI 2202: BLOG POST #3 By Sanskar Karki Mount Saint Vincent University One of the most important points for a good business presentation is understanding the subject matter. Having an understanding of the subject makes you not totally reliant on your notes. Keeping the presentation clear and organized is another essential point. The introduction will grab everyone’s attention, and then there will be main points, followed by a conclusion to make sure that people remember why this presentation was given in the first place. I have also learned that a slide should be kept neat and tidy, rather than stuffed with information, as this will distract people’s attention from what’s being spoken. Body language greatly influences the perceived confidence and competence of a presenter. When a presenter looks at his audience while using correct hand gestures to support his message he’ll appear much more competent and professional to the audience than if he did not do those things. In planning futu...
